PALLAS / CALCULATOR
CPL Calculator
Calculate cost per lead from lead-generation spend and the leads produced in the same reporting scope. Add an optional target CPL to see the exact gap and lead volume required at the same spend.

Method & formula
CPL divides the spend assigned to lead generation by the number of leads generated from the same campaign, channel and reporting period. The optional target does not grade performance; it simply shows the arithmetic gap and how many leads the same spend would need to produce to reach that target.
- CPL = lead-generation spend ÷ leads generated
- Difference from target = measured CPL − target CPL
- Leads needed at target = ceiling(lead-generation spend ÷ target CPL)
Example
1,200 of lead-generation spend producing 60 leads gives a CPL of 20. With a target CPL of 15, the same spend would need 80 leads.
FAQ
Is CPL the same as CPA or CAC?
No. CPL stops at a lead. CPA can measure a later conversion or acquisition, while CAC should include the broader sales and marketing cost required to win a new customer.
What should count as a lead?
Use one explicit lead definition for the comparison you are making, such as a form submission, qualified enquiry or demo request, and keep that definition consistent across periods and channels.
What happens if there are zero leads?
Measured CPL is undefined because there is no lead denominator. If you entered a target CPL, the calculator can still show the lead volume required at that target.
