Method & formula
The tool parses the HTML with Prettier’s HTML parser and serialises it using explicit indentation, line-width and LF line-ending settings. It does not execute scripts or fetch page resources.

Example
A compressed component such as <div><span>A</span><span>B</span></div> is expanded only where the formatter’s HTML whitespace rules allow it.

FAQ
Does the formatter run my scripts?
No. The source is parsed as text for formatting; scripts are not executed.
Is this an HTML validator?
No. Parsing errors that prevent formatting are reported, but standards conformance validation is a different job.
