Image Compressor
Make JPG, PNG and WebP files smaller in your browser. Choose the quality where it applies, preview the result and keep the original whenever re-encoding would make the file larger.

Choose an image and compression quality
Images stay on this device while they are processed. The tool accepts source files up to 20 MB, keeps decoded images within a 128 MB memory limit and stops if the output would exceed 20 MB.

How it works
PBT processes the image locally and writes a new copy in the same format. JPG and WebP use the quality you choose; PNG is optimised losslessly with OxiPNG. PBT compares the candidate with the original and returns whichever file is smaller.
Example
Choose a 1.8 MB JPG and set the quality to 80%. If the new file is 1.1 MB, PBT shows how much space you saved and offers the smaller copy. If the new file would be 1.9 MB, it keeps the original 1.8 MB image and says so explicitly.
Frequently asked questions
Does PNG use the quality slider?
No. PNG is handled as lossless output, so the quality slider is disabled rather than pretending that a lossy quality setting applies.
Will every image become smaller?
No. Some images are already efficiently encoded. When PBT cannot produce a smaller file, it keeps the original and reports the rejected candidate size.
Privacy
Your source image stays on this device during compression. PBT does not upload it, store it on a server or put the filename or image contents into the page URL.
