Image utility

Remove hidden image metadata

Create a fresh copy from the visible pixels so EXIF, GPS and camera metadata are not carried across.

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image. Your image stays in the browser.
Quality applies to JPG and WebP. PNG stays lossless.

How it works

PBT opens the visible image in your browser and writes a new JPG, PNG or WebP from those pixels. Because the new file is rebuilt rather than copied byte for byte, the original EXIF and GPS metadata is left behind.

Example

A phone photo may contain the time it was taken, camera details or location data. Run it through this tool before sharing when you want the picture without that embedded source metadata.

Frequently asked questions

Does this change the visible photo?

The image is re-encoded, so JPG and WebP output may differ slightly because they use lossy compression. PNG output remains lossless.

Does this show me the metadata before removing it?

No. This tool is deliberately focused on removal: it creates a new pixel-based copy without retaining or displaying the embedded tags.

Privacy

Your image stays in the browser. PBT does not upload the source file or send it to an external metadata service.
