Method & formula

New and expansion MRR are added, churned and contraction MRR are subtracted, and the net movement is applied to starting MRR. ARR is the ending MRR annualised at twelve months.

  • Net new MRR = new + expansion - churned - contraction
  • Ending MRR = starting MRR + net new MRR
  • Ending ARR = ending MRR x 12
Example

Starting MRR of 40,000 plus 7,000 new and expansion, less 2,000 churn and contraction, ends at 45,000 MRR and 540,000 ARR.
